“How does a person become wise? The first step is to trust and respect the Lord!”

Proverbs 1:7

Kia Ora Families and Whanau

Amazing…Term One almost over already!! Welcome to all our new families – we trust you settle quickly; if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

The Learning Programme has been “a buzz” with all things Bees. It was great having Warren and Cindy Harliwich share their knowledge with us as beekeepers. This has inspired many other activities, songs, rhymes and discoveries about the science of the Living World.

If you have any hobbies, skills or talents that you think the children would enjoy to explore, do contact Denise. Children’s learning is expanded so much more when it is from something they are interested in, plus it provides more scope for teachers to attach other areas of the curriculum as well.

The Teacher Only Day held at Blue Mountain College with all teachers across the Pomahaka Kāhui Ako was an informative experience. We gained insight into the new Digital Technologies curriculum and the fast- moving world our children will be citizens of, along with the types of skills they will need. Thanks again for your understanding regarding our closure on the Teacher Only Day, and apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Blessings from us all at KidzWay

Easter Celebrations

Come along and join us for fun, games and an Easter Egg Hunt at our KidzWay Easter Celebrations on Thursday 18 April starting at 1:30pm. Please bring a plate to share for afternoon tea. All welcome.

Mat Times with Whaea Marie

Teachers at KidzWay are always keen to improve their te reo Māori, and to that end Whaea Marie Hasselmore will be visiting us regularly and sharing waiata and te reo Māori with teachers and children.

Fire Station Visit

To support children’s learning about services in the community and adding to our focus on the Medical Centre and Doctors and Nurses, a visit to the Fire Station is planned for next Wednesday 10 April. We will walk up to the Fire Station, leaving the Centre at 10.45am. If it is not your child’s KidzWay day and they would like to come, you and your child are welcome to join us.

Term Two Ngahere Explorers – Parent Meeting

Ngahere Explorers will take place on Tuesdays next term, starting on Tuesday 30 April. We will be holding a short meeting for parents of Tuesday four-year-olds at 9:00am on Tuesday 23 April. At this meeting we will outline the details of the programme and the part you will be playing in it.

Tool Box Survey

KidzWay is committed to offering the Parenting Place’s “Baby and Toddler” (1-5yrs) Tool Box course which we have run for the past 7 years. We are keen to work in with parents at a time that suits the majority of you. Please fill out the expression of interest form in the foyer to help us find out which month would suit you to run this six-week course.
