Kia Ora Whanau and Families

Another busy year is drawing to a close and only 12 more sleeps until the KidzWay Christmas Concert!! Once again the children and teachers are into rehearsal mode in preparation for this event. Come along with your extended families and support your child as they share the Christmas Story and their favourite songs for 2022. (See below for more details)

The PGG Wrightson Auction was such a huge success at the A and P Show with $28,910.00 being made then another $1400 in raffles. This money will be put to good use topping up bark under the swings, sand for the sand pit, replacing playground equipment and some verandah curtains. Thank you so much to the wonderful group of parents who canvased and organised the items for auction… You guys are amazing!

“It takes a village to raise a child” - a great example here :)

KidzWay Christmas Concert 2022

WHEN: Wednesday 7 December at 1:30 pm

WHERE: West Otago Community Centre Theatre - followed by afternoon tea at the Church hall behind the theatre.

PLEASE BRING: A plate to share for afternoon tea in the church hall. Again, please be aware of food that may be a choking hazard.

We encourage children who do not attend on a Wednesday to join us to take part in the concert. Could these children please be dropped off at KidzWay by 1:15pm so we can all walk up to the theatre as a group. Please note: If you notice that your child is not enjoying the stage experience, please pop down at any time and take your child back to your seat. Also, please feel free to exit the theatre to the lounge or outside with your child/children if they become restless and hinder others from hearing the performance.

A shared afternoon tea in the church hall will follow straight after the concert. Plates can be dropped off into the hall before the concert. Teachers will walk all the children to the Church hall, where you can get them something to eat, as they sit on the blue tarpaulin. Tea and coffee will be served also. KidzWay will be open after the concert for you to collect your child’s bag and belongings.

We look forward to seeing all of our KidzWay children there.

69th Tapanui Christmas Float Parade Saturday 24 December 2022

KidzWay will put a float in again this year, if your child would like to ride in it with us, please meet us at 6.45pm to get on the float. Meeting place still to be confirmed!

Apologies for the date but this is drawn by the Town and Country Club. Please drop off at KidzWay any raffle items you wish to donate or bring with you on the night for the table.

Please no alcoholic drinks for the raffles. Thanks for your support

Summer Holidays

To help us with staffing requirements, please let Manja know if your child will be away at any stage over the school holiday period. Many thanks.

Ngahere Explorers Term One 2023

Ngahere Explorers (our bush explorer programme) will take place on Mondays for Term 1 next year, starting on Monday 13 February 2023. The 10 oldest Monday four-year-olds will be involved every week, and the next oldest four-year-olds will be the “reserves” in case there is a child absent.

Parents will be placed on a parent-help roster throughout the term. A short meeting will be held on Monday 30 January for parents of children who have not attended the programme before.

A Couple of Friendly Reminders

Name-Tags, Hats and Bags: Please help your child to find their name tags and place them on their hook with their named bucket hat each morning and taken home each night. Also help them find a cubby and name tag for their bags. The naming of bags, lunch boxes, drink bottles and clothing helps us so much with our routines and caring for children’s property.

Lost Property: Please check the pile of lost property for any of your child’s missing clothes. Any items left at the end of the year will be donated to the Salvation Army. THANK YOU.

Thank You…🥰👏👏💐💐
