Kia Ora Whānau and Families,

Well, it has been a whirlwind of a first term so far, as we have farewelled our beloved Denise who has done such an amazing job for 16 years; being a wonderful example, and an inspiring leader here at Kidzway. We may be able to get her back to relieve from time to time; we are keen to not let her go completely! I am entrusted with the role of head teacher for the next few months, and will endeavour, with help from our wonderful staff, to fill the role. We welcome Olivia Bradley who will be on the floor Mondays and Tuesdays during this time.

Fathers’ / Special Persons’ Night

This was held on 19th of March, and we had a small but enthusiastic turn out of whānau. The night was a success, and it is always wonderful to see parents, uncles, grandparents, and wider whānau having a look around KidzWay (sometimes for the first time,) playing games, sharing kai, and having fun with their tamariki.

Events coming up

Come along and join us in our Easter celebrations on the 17th of April at 2pm! It will be held here at KidzWay with some songs, the Easter story, an  Easter egg hunt and followed by a shared afternoon tea. (Please bring a plate to share plus a list of ingredients. Please NO marshmallows, nuts, cheerios/sausages. Thank you!)

This year’s Quiz Night for KidzWay at the Town and Country Club is on the 26th May at 7.30pm. This is an annual fundraising event that helps us to buy resources for the centre. Please support us by attending, or if you are unable to make it drop off a donation for the raffle table (e.g. baking the day before or on the day.) Your support would be much appreciated!

Celebrations at KidzWay

On the 8th April, KidzWay reached another milestone: we turned 17; my how the time has flown by. We look forward to many more years of celebrations as we continue to provide quality care and education in West Otago.

New Project

KidzWay is looking to revamp our sensory garden area in the far corner of the playground. We would love to hear your ideas for this area. Thank you to Roz Smith for the donation of a tumbling compost bin which will replace our current open bin.

Thank You…

  • To Luke Kane, who turned up for our working bee, Olivia Bradley and husband, Shaun, for water blasting the concrete area, and cleaning the plastic curtains. Thanks to Caitlyn Barclay for cutting back and cleaning up the flaxes/weeding in our wild area!! Your help is much appreciated to keep KidzWay looking good and safe for your tamariki. There are still some jobs out on the notice board, if anyone has some time to come and do them!
